Who is Cheryl C McNeil?

Other than being the author of this blog and an avid environmentalist as you already know I am a wife, mother, grandmother and home maker. Just like the thousands that visit my blog daily I am interested in what is best for my family and my environment.

I became interested in the environment in the 60’s and as we had no internet to research with at that time the things I could learn were limited. You did not hear much about it on the evening news or in the newspapers. My biggest understanding of the environment came about with the 1st Earth Day in 1970. It brought us together in harmony. It gave us activist something we could come together with and all be on the same side. It was a different time with demonstrations on the war in Vietnam, Civil Rights, Womens Rights and The Environment, I was a willing participant in many demonstrations. Though not always handled peacefully as there were riots we were a generation determined to be heard.

Today I am a concerned mother and grand mother that uses her voice to improve the conditions of the earth and to help stop domestic violence. I have raised my children and now my grand children with a love for their planet and want my grandsons and grand daughters to never experience domestic violence. I am writing a book on my life which I hope to have finished next year. Coming from a background of domestic violence, overcoming that cycle and going on to marry the love of my life was a huge step, one I love to help others take. I plan to open a shelter for women in my community where I can help, encourage and empower women with the knowledge to change not only their lives but to make a difference in others lives.

I spend my time with my family as I work from home, have a husband that helps and supports me in my causes and travel with my family.

I am no different than my readers, just using my voice and encouraging others to do the same.

I am in the process of opening a shelter in my community for women and children that are victims of domestic violence, all proceeds from my site go to getting this shelter open as my community has to turn women away as all the shelters are full.  I will be adding a new site soon where I will give the information for those wishing to make donations of clothes, toys, diapers and all that my shelter will need.
